Demolition, Land Clearing and Hauling for Zephyrhills Property Owners

Zephyrhills is built on manufactured housing. Census figures put mobile homes at 28.8 percent of housing units inside the city. In the unincorporated areas around town the share runs from 70 to 84 percent. Many were set in the 1970s and 1980s, and the worn ones have to come off the lot.

Global Construction and Home Repair is a demolition contractor based in Valrico, about 20 miles south of Zephyrhills. Pasco County sits well inside the roughly 50 mile area we cover. Most of our work is demolition: house teardowns, garages, additions, pools, mobile home removal and older commercial buildings. We also clear land, grade lots and haul debris, and estimates are free, so call or text (813) 239-4231.

Mobile Home Demolition in Zephyrhills and East Pasco

Zephyrhills grew as a retirement town, and the parks around it show it. About 33 percent of city residents are 65 or older by census count. In Zephyrhills West it passes half, and mobile homes make up 79 percent of the housing. Betmar Acres alone holds close to 1,600 manufactured homes on resident owned lots, and it dates to 1966.

An old mobile home stops being worth fixing once the frame, floor or roof gives out. The park or the lot owner needs it gone so the next home can be set. We take the unit apart, load it out and haul it off. The metal goes to a recycler and the rest goes to a disposal site.

Paperwork comes with these jobs. A demolition permit goes in first and the utilities get shut off. The county and the state title office have paperwork for a retired mobile home. Attached carports, sheds, decks and Florida rooms come out with the unit, and the pad is left clear.

Flood and Storm Damage Demolition After Hurricane Milton

Hurricane Milton crossed the state as a category 3 on October 9, 2024. The National Weather Service counted 12 tornadoes across the Tampa Bay area. Its rainfall list put the Dade City gauge, just north of Zephyrhills, at 14.94 inches.

Pasco County called the flooding that followed historic. It ran from Elfers on the coast east to Zephyrhills, and crews rescued 150 people. In Silver Oaks the golf course went under and water stood around houses. On some Zephyrhills blocks that water was still sitting five months later.

Water damage does not dry out on its own, and a flooded house does not have to come down whole. We can take out just the soaked section and leave the rest standing. Manufactured homes soak up water differently, since it gets under the floor and into the framing.

A home in a mapped flood zone faces one more rule. Repair costs past a set share of the building value can trigger more than a repair. Ask the City of Zephyrhills or Pasco County about your path before the work starts.

Demolition Permits in Zephyrhills and Unincorporated Pasco County

Which office handles your permit depends on the address. Inside city limits, the City of Zephyrhills Building Department issues it. The city's published fee sheet lists a demolition permit at $100. Its building office takes questions at 813-780-0020, and fees change, so confirm the current one.

Outside city limits, Pasco County Building Construction Services covers unincorporated Pasco. That takes in the Zephyrhills North, South and West areas plus Crystal Springs and Pasadena Hills. Its customer service line is 727-847-8126. Check which office covers your parcel before anything gets filed.

Florida requires an asbestos survey by a licensed inspector before most demolitions. That survey is done by an asbestos professional and we schedule our work around it. Power, water and gas come off before we start. We call Sunshine 811 before we dig.

Lot Clearing and Site Prep Around a Growing Zephyrhills

The city is filling in. The 2020 census counted 17,194 people in Zephyrhills, and the city now puts the number above 22,000. New neighborhoods like Abbott Square are going up on ground that was pasture and grove. The city is also building out an industrial corridor.

That growth leaves overgrown parcels holding barns, pole buildings, old slabs and retired trailers. We clear the lot, take the structures down and haul the debris off. Then we grade it and prep the pad so a builder can start on solid ground.

Commercial work follows Gall Boulevard, which is US 301 through town. Older block buildings sit along it, along Fort King Road, and around the historic downtown. Retail and restaurant spaces get gutted or taken down when a property changes hands. We handle the teardown, clear out what the last tenant left and leave a clean pad.

Communities and areas we serve around Zephyrhills: Downtown Zephyrhills, Betmar Acres, Silver Oaks, Lake Bernadette, Abbott Square, Zephyr Lakes, Zephyrhills North, Zephyrhills West, Zephyrhills South, Crystal Springs, Pasadena Hills, Gall Boulevard.

Zephyrhills ZIP codes served: 33540, 33541, 33542.

Global Construction did an outstanding job demolishing the original single-story, ground-floor portion of our home after it was flooded by Hurricane Helene. This was a highly complex project that several other companies declined because the original house had to be carefully separated from the remaining garage and ADU above, while also preserving the existing pool. Their team handled the demolition with skill, professionalism, and great attention to detail. They took on a difficult project, completed the work safely and efficiently, and delivered phenomenal results at a very fair price. We are extremely grateful to Global Construction and would highly recommend them to anyone needing an experienced and dependable demolition contractor.

We needed help demoing affected homes from the hurricanes in late 2024 to dry them out and thankfully we were connected to Mike and his son and their crew. They were great to work with, they were punctual, they were respectful and we all around a great experience working with them.

Zephyrhills FAQ

Questions From Zephyrhills Property Owners

A few of the questions we hear most around Zephyrhills. If yours is not here, call or text and ask.

Call (813) 239-4231

Do you work in Zephyrhills?
Yes. Zephyrhills sits about 20 miles north of our base in Valrico, well inside the roughly 50 mile area we cover. We work the city plus Zephyrhills North, South and West, Crystal Springs and Pasadena Hills. Call or text (813) 239-4231 and we will come look at the structure or the lot.
Who issues a demolition permit in Zephyrhills?
Inside city limits, the City of Zephyrhills Building Department does. Its published fee sheet lists a demolition permit at $100. If the address is in unincorporated Pasco County, Pasco County Building Construction Services handles it instead. Fees and requirements change, so confirm with the office that covers your parcel.
What does it cost to tear down a mobile home in Zephyrhills?
It depends on the unit and the lot, so we price each job after looking at it. A single wide is a different job than a double wide. Tight park access, attached carports, sheds and Florida rooms all move the price. So does whether the pad and tie downs come out, and estimates are free.
Can you remove an old mobile home from a park lot?
Yes. Park lots are tight and the homes on either side sit close, so we work carefully. The permit goes in first and the utilities come off before anything moves. We take the unit apart, haul it away and leave the pad clear for the next home.
My Zephyrhills house flooded in Milton. Can you take down only the damaged part?
Often, yes. Removing a flooded ground floor or a damaged wing is normal work for us. The rest of the house stays up, and we protect pools, garages and anything above the section coming out. Check your repair path with the city or the county floodplain office first, then call or text (813) 239-4231.
