Land clearing turns an overgrown lot into ground you can use. We take out the trees, stumps, palmettos, brush and vines, then pull the roots out of the dirt. The excavator does the heavy work and the debris gets loaded and hauled away. What is left is open ground you can build on, fence or mow.
Global Construction and Home Repair is based in Valrico and works about 50 miles out. Every lot starts with a look at it. We come out, see what is standing and what has to go, then give you a free estimate. You tell us which trees stay. Access matters too, because the machines and trucks need a way in and out.
Then the machines come in. The excavator pushes the growth over, pulls stumps and root balls, and stacks what comes out. Brush and vines close to the trees you are keeping come out by hand, so nothing you want gets damaged.
The debris leaves the same way it came out of the ground. Stumps, limbs and root balls go into dump trucks and trailers and off the property. You are left with open ground and the roots out of it.
Acreage is a different job than a house lot. East of Valrico the land runs to pasture, farm ground and ranch land along the Alafia River. Owners clear it to run cattle, open a building site, or get a driveway back to the property.
A big tract usually comes out in stages. We open the access first, then work through the property in sections. You can clear the piece you need now and leave the rest in trees. Builders call this site clearing when it is done ahead of a new build.
Once the ground is open, most building lots need dirt work next. That is grading and building pad prep, and it uses the same excavator and the same trucks. Roots and stumps left buried in a pad make trouble later, so they come out during the clearing, not after.
Florida ground fills back in fast. Palmetto, briars, vines and volunteer saplings take a lot back within a few seasons. Brush removal gets that growth off the ground so you can see the shape of the property again.
A lot of the worst growth on an unmanaged Tampa Bay lot is not native. Hillsborough County lists Brazilian pepper, Australian pine, melaleuca and Chinese tallow as trees that need no removal permit. That exempt list sits on the county Natural Resources pages, and it makes an overgrown lot simpler to clear.
Other trees are protected by size and need a permit first. In unincorporated Hillsborough County, clearing an area goes through a land alteration permit. The City of Tampa protects oaks, pines and elms over 5 inches across and runs its own tree rules. Confirm what applies to your parcel with the permit office before anything comes down.

We come to the property and look at the structure or the lot. Size, what it is built of, access for the machines and where the debris goes all set the price. The estimate is free.
Hillsborough County requires a demolition permit, and it wants utility sign-offs before it issues one. A licensed asbestos inspector surveys the buildings the state rule covers. We work around the permit and the survey, and we confirm what your address needs.
The excavator comes in and the structure comes down. Anything you are keeping stays protected while that happens. Debris goes into dump trucks and trailers as we work.
The last loads go out, and the slab and foundation go with them when you want them gone. We grade the ground so the lot sits level. Then you have a lot you can build on, sell or use.
